Debra's relationship to sound and vibration goes beyond writing, singing and playing intruments. She also works with individual clients facilitating a healing modality called “VKA”.

“VKA” or Vocal Kinesthetic Alchemy is an innovative healing practice using toning, touch, intuition, massage, and other modalities to move energy in the body and help people reconnect with themselves. I combine many of today’s most effective techniques to help create balance, harmony, and full expression within the mind, body, and spirit. Some that I use most often are reflexology, acupressure, bilateral energy balancing, vibrational entrainment based in Cymatics, massage, trauma repatterning, visualization, color therapy, flower essence and aromatherapy. Sound waves transmitted through the human body can normalize imbalances and synchronize cell frequencies back to their natural, healthy state of vibrational resonance. Cymatics is the study of wave phenomena.

I call the work "bodywork" or "energy facilitation". The work is so much more than massage but comes in a massage format where the client often lies on a massage table. The work can be done sitting or standing as well. I have done various forms of bodywork nearly all my life, and have coined this version "Vocal Kinesthetic Alchemy" because it combines touch, vocal and energy vibrations in intuitive response to the client's needs.

I book in 2-hour sessions. I believe it takes 1 1/2 to 2 hours for someone to go in deeply, do the work, and re-enter their lives. I read my client’s body energy and address issues or stuck places using the most effective and called modality. I often ask the client to participate by speaking of their feelings, sensations, or emotions. We often make sound together. Afterwards, I ask people to fill out a brief feedback form or talk about their experience. This gives the client an opportunity to integrate and name what they obtained from the session, as well as helping me better serve in this healing modality. -Debra Farris
